You can find all kinds of houses in Redondo Beach. And by "houses" we mean Single Family Residences on their own lots. You own the land and the building(s) on it.
Everything from original beach bungalows, 100 year old Craftsmen, Spanish 1930s charmers, duplexes, McMansions, stunning Contemporaries and Ocean View Southern CA Ranches. Plus a lot of mid century tract homes and Tall and Skinnies.

You will primarily find "Tall and Skinny" Single Family Houses in the Golden Hills neighborhood of North Redondo Beach (MLS Area 154).
In it purest form, the Tall and Skinny is an (approximately) 1900 SqFt Single Family House on a 2500 SqFt lot. Typically the door is found on the side of the home and there is a tiny back yard.
Most of these properties have reverse floor plans with the main living area and master bedroom upstairs and 2 bedrooms found downstairs. A small number of these properties do have standard floor plans with bedrooms upstairs and the living areas down. Looking at these homes you almost might think they are townhouses, but they are not.
Older generations of these homes might be in the 1500-1600 SqFt range and have three bedrooms upstairs. Newer construction might find a third floor with a loft expanded the living area to over 2000 SqFt.
The TRW Tract
This neighborhood is found in the northeast quadrant of MLS Area 151 bound by Inglewood Ave to the east, Manhattan Beach Blvd to the north, Robinson to the south and Vail to the west. People like the curvy streets and neighborhood feel.
While originally comprised of mid century tract homes, many of these have been expanded or just scraped and replaced with much larger homes. Lot sizes might range from 5000 SqFt up to over 8000. There are some very nice, newer homes here and you have great freeway access and are close to the Manhattan Beach Rosecrans corridor.
The El Nido neighborhood (MLS Area 153) is almost entirely comprised on Single Family Residences (SFRs).
Over the years many newer homes, typically over 3000 SqFt with 4-5 bedrooms have been built here and recent resale prices have been in the mid $1Ms.
